So PAX has been going on over the course of the past few days, and some big news came in an announcement from Keiji Inafune. The announcement of the Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter at PAX, which has not only reached its $900,000 goal in two days, but surpassed that into its first stretch goal and is sitting currently (as of this posting) at $1,217,795. There are many interesting stretch goals lined up for this project, with some still hidden from the public. The final goal of $2,500,000 is the necessary target to bring this game to consoles. Check out the Kickstarter page for more concept art, as well as some music pieces. Simple little demo after a week's worth of work by the team. Platforms confirmed:PC(Mac & Linux Supported!) Platforms possible (Stretch Goals Met): PS3/360/Wii U/PS4/Xbone/PSVita/3DS Sources: Mighty No. 9 KickstarterMegaman NetworkJoystiq

Yes.
Yes?
ALL THE YES
Hey CAPCOM, just licensing out Megaman to Archie Comics* doesn't count as taking care of the brand, especially after nuking Megaman Legends 3 from orbit. This kick starter is proof that the fans want games, good games, actual fun games with original ideas added to the classic formula.
With more and more indie games getting made via Kickstarter, big publishers should be paying attention. This is just the most obvious case.
And I hope it KICKS ALL THE ASSES.
*Side note, Archie has been taking good care of the Megaman license, the comics are pretty good. But that's a topic for another thread.

It's well on its way to getting all the stretch goals cleared. With 24 days to go and only two stretch goals left.
We're definitely going to be getting the console versions, and the speculation of the final stretch is handhelds like the 3DS/2DS and the PS Vita.
Capcom ruined a good franchise when Inafune quit. The Megaman franchise, much like the character, has limitless potential with what could be done with the series. Capcom just hates its fans.

Capcom hates everything except release dates.

Mighty No. 9 seems really awesome! Can't wait for it to be finished so that I could play it.
And as for CAPCOM, I ain't even mad or feeling sorry for them even in the slightest. That is what you get for discontinuing all of these awesome games and for making a reboot of Devil May Cry. If they just give the gamers what they want, none of this would have happened to them.
But that is going off-topic. On topic: this game promises to be a good one!

That might be good news for some, and I am happy that they broke the stretch. But as a person who doesn't own any kind of console, then I feel kind of indifferent towards that particular part of the news.

Well, at least it's coming to the PC first.
As of today, we've got Vita and 3DS versions coming as well since that stretch has been met.
Updated the first post a little bit and added in the demo video to show of what they've done with the Unreal Engine for the game.

Hope they'll reach the next stretch as well, but with only 5 hours left there doesn't seem to be more money coming in, but Hey, everything is possible if it has to do with something great EDIT(due to not wanting to double post): DAMNNN!! they really reached all of their all of their stretch goals!! WOW! 4 mil! Now that is a lot of money, and the final stretch seems the most interesting. To be able to race your friend and be able to hinder him/her by killing your enemies and sending them to him/her. Now that is a really cool idea. Can't wait for the game to actually come out now.

Ok, I'm gonna say it, if only cause it needs to be said, so it's outta the way, and we can all move on…
"Wow, how very Roll-ish."

It may be Roll-ish, but I liked Roll, so I have no qualms with it. I haven't done much research on the game yet, but have they set up some release date or year or anything for when the game will come out?

I believe it's a tentative 2015 release date right now. Especially since they're pushing it for just about every console/PC/Mac/Linux because of all of the stretch goals.
