To gain access to the Spriters Paradise chat room, you are going to have to have a program of some type that gives you access to IRC.
The most common and popular is mIRC. This is the program that I use. You could also just go to DarkMyst's webpage and use their WebChat if you don't want to have to download anything.
Once you have mIRC, or whichever program you have, you're going to need to select the correct server. We will be using the DarkMyst server, it's information is just below:
irc.darkmyst.org
Here are some helpful commands to get you situated with the program:
This brings up the help menu, which can immensely help people to understand the many features of IRC.
This lets you join a channel. # signs always go before a channel name.
This changes your name to whatever you want, so long as it isn't in use. In this example, your name would be changed to Name.
Speaking of nicknames, this command will register your current nick. This prevents others from using your name. The "ns" is short for NickServ, which is a bot that helps with many functions regarding nicks.
After you've gotten yourself comfortable with the commands, you're going to need to join the Spriters Paradise room. It's just below:
#SpritersParadise
There are many more commands, which you can learn about from doing /help and navigating the menus.
Side-Note: For those of you who use the Firefox browser, there's a plugin you can download called ChatZilla that will do the exact same thing.
Can't wait to sit and chat with you.
